Welcome

The heart often leads us back to ourselves, and sometimes we find we need support in that journey. Counselling is a service of the heart and I hold this with reverence, curiosity and care in a nurturing confidential space co-created by myself, Amaia, and the client.

In counselling I work with people in the unfolding of themselves, the gradual working with layers of complexity and a journey back to self. The counselling journey is one of exploration with reconnection often at the centre of the work. And, this is work. I will accompany you, walk alongside you, hold what needs holding for you. You will be the author of your own inner work.

The journey of each client is unique, and so the work we do together is also unique. To find out more about how I work and the ways in which I practice, explore here.

My in-person sessions are held in Stroud and Cheltenham and I have online sessions which can be accessed both nationally and internationally. To find out about the kinds of things you might expect in counselling such as the investment, time and location, explore see FAQs below.

My practice is always evolving as I deepen my own work with varied psychotherapeutic philosophies and models. I aim to evolve a practice that works within diversity, actively practises anti-oppression and remains open to learning and rethinking. I will also work with clients in an endeavour to resource the client and am aware of my own privilege and senses. To find out more about how I practice, explore here.

FAQs

  • Please feel welcome to call, email me or use my online enquiry form.

Usually we book in an assessment which allows me to see whether we can work together. Once this is done and we are compatible, we will book in the first block of sessions. Once complete, we work together to review how you are doing and whether to add more blocks on.

Reasons why we might be compatible to work together include conflicts of interest, timing difficulties etc. but I will do my best to refer you to someone appropriate should that be needed.

  • I have a Level 4 counselling diploma in therapeutic and psycho-spiritual counselling which holds person-centred counselling at its core while also bringing in aspects of soul work, transpersonal work, Jungian theory, ecopsychology, psychosynthesis, Gestalt and Zen theoretical models amongst others.

I am an individual member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and NCPS (National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society).

While I’m currently working towards accreditation, I uphold the BACP’s ethical framework.

I am fully insured and have appropriate data protection in place.

  • All sessions are 50 minutes long unless mutually agreed otherwise.

I have a tiered payment system to make sure counselling is accessible as possible.

    Blossom £35.00

This is the investment per session for those in need of a lower cost service to be able to access counselling. This is for those with no disposable income nor savings within the household. If this is still too much for you, get in touch directly.

    Bloom £50.00

This is the investment per session in order that I may maintain a sustainable practice. This tier of investment is for those who have a comfortable daily life (financially), for example, you can go on holiday or eat out.

    Branch £65.00

This is most commonly chosen by those who are more resourced financially so that lower cost services may be offered, creating a care in counselling circle. This is optional but welcome from those who have savings, financial abundance or would like to gift counselling onwards.

    Time

In terms of time working together, this could range from 13 weeks to 13 years. I like to start with 13 weeks as minimum and then offer more time as needed or desired by the client.

    Sessions are usually weekly.

  • I offer sessions both online and in person from my private practice and other therapy rooms near Stroud and Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

Do get in touch to see which would work for you.
