Counselling
Counselling for me is always about connection. As we weave our way through life so much can happen to us and there is an incredible amount the human being can experience, tuck away, project, dissociate from, transfer, dream, lose, block, process. If you are wondering about working with a counsellor, you are already on the path.
My counselling journey
When I was looking for training I wanted a course that would really hold a journey of depth for myself, my peers and my clients while being rooted in the foundations of person-centred care.
I trained in counselling at an institute that held respect, connection and heart at its core. Our training at Sweet Track Counselling Services allowed us to deepen into the work of transpersonal psychotherapy, dream work and eco psychotherapy out in the woods or in the Avalon marshes on top of the grounding in Rogerian theoretical models. The course brought somatic therapy, creative therapies, soul and spiritual models into the work. My training was deeply rooted in doing the inner work.
My own journey into the psychotherapeutic realms started much earlier than my counselling training. Many years ago I studied body-centred psychotherapy and before that natural medicine and both of these modalities have shaped the way I am in the world.

I work with and welcome anyone who identifies with or has been diagnosed with a specific neurotype or is somewhere on the spectrum. I have worked with neurodiverse clients in different capacities for over 20 years.
I am a member of BAATN, the Black and Asian Therapy Network which has fantastic offerings for the global majority. I work with many people and have, in different capacities, worked internationally for decades, transcending borders but recognising privilege and accessibility.
If you have any needs such as wheelchair access, ground floor access or anxiety, for example, do get in touch and we can discuss how we might meet your needs.
I have worked with trauma-informed tutors and colleagues and some years ago completed a course on trauma with The Embodiment Institute. Over the years, in different capacities, I have worked with clients who hold many different traumas and needs. A slow unfolding of experience may be part of the journey but we work together to find the best path for you in your healing journey.
